We build contemporary landscapes & objects, where nature is built into detailed multifunctional design. Our work is deeply rooted in the Irish nature, community, materials & tradition.

Our work is designed and handmade by Edward Coveney & Esther Gerrard, using locally sourced materials and traditional Irish techniques.

Our studio’s expertise

  • Both of us hold Masters degrees in Landscape Architecture, allowing us to combine creative design to a high level of technical construction knowledge.

  • Esther is an experienced project manager in building construction, and has successfully planned & delivered major building projects in both, the public and private sectors.

  • Ed is a master stonemason with a meticulous eye for detail, quality and design. In 2026, Ed and 7 other makers were chosen to contribute to an exclusive craft exhibition for one of the first key EU presidency meetings at Dublin Castle.

    He upholds old traditional Irish building techniques and treasures locally sourced materials.

  • We create sculptures and public art installations that are deeply rooted in the local environment, people, history and tradition. Irish landscapes, culture and materials act as major inspiration in our designs.

  • Besides landscape & sculpture work, we have great passion for interior design and handcrafted bespoke objects & furniture. The studio is not actively crafting bespoke work at the moment, but is a significant part of our journey of creating sculptural pieces.

    Throughout the years, our designs have received several awards – such as winning the IDI award 2016, The Future Makers 2018, and RDS Craft awards 2019. Today

  • Local community and environment are in the core of our work. One of the most important parts of our design process is to understand the users of our creations, and ensure our work is aligned with their needs. We organise workshops and bring the community together, offering them an easy way to participate to the design process.

    On top of creating spaces for people, we focus on supporting the local biodiversity & designing innovative nature-based creations.
